PrajaSankalpaYatra: Jittery TDP Makes Cops Cancel Permission To Women’s Meet At Hussainapuram

Police prevent YSRCP supporters from reaching Hussainapuram - Sakshi Post

A tense situation prevailed in Hussainapuram in Banaganapalle mandal as the police have cancelled the permission for the YSRCP's women's conclave, which was to be held as part of the Praja Sankalpa Yatra of Leader of the Opposition and YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday.

Based on a complaint by few TDP leaders, the permission given to the women's meet was cancelled and the police have made widespread arrests in various parts of the constituency to thwart the meet. Reports say that there was pressure on the police from few ministers too. Strongly criticising the Government's action, former MLC and YSRCP leader Silpa Chakrapani Reddy said that the TDP was unnerved by the massive response among the womenfolk to the Praja Sankalpa Yatra. He said cancelling the permission at the last minute was a cheap trick. He said the womenfolk will teach the TDP Government a fitting lesson at the hustings.

Slamming Chandrababu Naidu, YSRCP MLA RK Roja termed Chandrababu anti-women and said women can get a fair deal only under YS Jagan rule. She said YS Jagan would offer protection and ensure justice to women. Women activists of the party said that they would ensure that Chandrababu and his party would bite the dust in the coming elections. They said the permission was cancelled under pressure from local TDP MLA Janardhan Reddy.

Meanwhile the police are preventing women from coming to Husainapuram. Several women leaders of the YSRCP have been taken into custody. At several places, YSRCP workers have entered into heated arguments with the police for preventing them from going to Husainapuram.
