Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Assembly and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's mass outreach program Praja Sankalpa Yatra in Guntur district between 12 March and 14 April rejuvenated the party's local rank and file. The locals have joined YS Jagan voluntarily in huge numbers and campaigned for "Special Category Status - The Right of Seemandhra people" while he covered 12 constituencies. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) cadre began to be gripped by fear after the padayatra received tremendous response in Bapatla constituency. They were stunned with the public's Opposition against TDP and the massive support to 11 public meetings.

During YS Jagan's padayatra in Visakhapatnam district, the massive influx of leaders took place into the party. Vidudala Rajani and former DIG Yesuratnam, who belong to the BC community, had been appointed as the party's constituency coordinators for Chilakaluripeta and Guntur West after their joining the party. While Namburi Shankar Rao played a pro-active role in the padayatra in Pedakurapadu, Dr Undavalli Sridevi has been appointed as Thadikonda constituency In-charge. Lavu Sri Krishnadevarayalu has been appointed as Narasaraopeta's Parliamentary constituency coordinator and Kilari Rosaiah has been appointed as Guntur Parliamentary constituency coordinator. Also, Lella Appireddy has been appointed as Guntur district president and Padarthi Ramesh Gandhi as Guntur city president.

In Vemuru constituency, senior leaders Dasari Mathaiah, Perikala Padma Rao, M Kuberudu, Pedda Bujji, Cheekati Bhujanga Rao and others have joined YSRCP. In the course of YS Jagan's padayatra in Guntur district, Sattenapalle Municipal Vice-chairman Athukuri Nageshwara Rao, Nimmakayala Rajanarayana, Karamath, Rizwan and others have also joined the party.

In TDP's strongholds like Ponnuru, Chilakaluripeta, and Prathipadu constituencies, massive response to padayatra and huge crowds for YS Jagan's public meets have stunned the TDP leaders. YS Jagan won the hearts of the locals with his speeches in Narasaraopeta and Sattenapalle, which had exposed the TDP's irregularities.

The TDP leaders were cornered by the Opposition leader's speeches on the ruling party's sand mafia, Amaravati lands and irrigation projects in Thadikonda, Pedkurupadu and Guntur city. In Mangalagiri constituency, YS Jagan spoke extensively on the woes of farmers and weavers while speaking out on the TDP's sand mafia and land encroachments in Tenali constituency.
