Twenty two Indian fishermen were apprehended and taken to Karachi for trespassing Pakistan's territorial waters, according to reports. The AP fishermen are believed to have migrated to Gujarat from coastal Andhra, which is said to be an annual practice for them. The fishermen are believed to visit Gujarat around September every year. They return by March, it is learned.
The families of fishermen held in Pakistan are a worried lot and sought the help of the government pleading with them to ensure the safety of the fishermen and also get them released immediately.
