Ganta Srinivasa Rao Brand Ambassador Of Chandrababu Corruption: YS Jagan
Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly and YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy addressed a public meeting as part of his mass outreach programme Praja Sankalpa Yatra at Bheemili constituency in Visakhapatnam district.
Launching a scathing attack at local TDP minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, YS Jagan said that the minister was acting as a brand ambassador of Chandrababu's corruption. Narrating the complaints given by the locals he said that the TDP leaders were encroaching on government, Inam and assigned lands in the region. He added that irregularities were found in the MRO offices in Bheemili, Madhurawada and Anandapuram.
"The governance is in disarray in the district thanks to the local TDP leaders. In the aftermath of the Hudhud cyclone, the TDP leaders along with the MRO officers plotted to destroy government records. On the pretext of damage caused by the cyclone, 16,000 field measurement books were made to disappear from the offices," he said.
In Vemula Valasa in Anandapuram Mandal, the local minister sold government lands and secured loans from banks by mortgaging the land documents, he observed. In the name of land pooling, the minister collaborated with IT minister Nara Lokesh to sell Rs 600 crore worth assigned lands for just 25 per cent of the market rate, YS Jagan added.
The YSRCP Chief said that Ganta Srinivasa Rao, the education minister, colluded with brother-in-law and minister Narayana, who is collecting exorbitant fees from the students of Narayana colleges. The minister should be jailed for causing 30 student suicides, he added.
The education minister as per a design sought to make money from eggs, pulses, uniforms and the midday meal scheme in the government schools, he said. "More than 85,000 mid-day meal workers are working without even getting salaries from the government. Unlike anywhere in the country, the Chandrababu government is itching to hand over the scheme to private agencies," he added.
In Andhra University, out of the 913 teaching posts, more than 550 posts are lying vacant, YS Jagan said. "Instead of boosting government institutions, Chandrababu is encouraging students to join Gitam University, which is owned by his aide MVVS Murthy," he added.
YS Jagan remarked that Chandrababu Naidu was turning a blind eye even as sugar factories, ferro-manganese units and jute mills across the district were reeling in losses and were closing down. The Chittivalasa jute mill, which employs 6,000 workers is in danger of closing down, he added.
The YSRCP chief recalled that Chandrababu had spent Rs 150 crore for the 3-day Vizag Summit. He also said that minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao promised to set up an RTC complex promised in Kadanapu Valasa. The TDP leaders failed to construct Rythu Bazaars in Bheemili and Anandapuram, he said.
The YSRCP Chief said that Chandrababu cheated farmers, women, youth and the Self Help Groups.
"The State government completely neglected irrigation works and forgot its promise of setting up a fishing harbour in the district," he added.
When late Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy visited the district as part of Nagara Bata, he had instantly solved the drinking water problem by sanctioning a project worth Rs 20 crore, YS Jagan said. "Dr YSR expanded the Madhurawada tech park by bringing in Tech Mahindra, Infosys etc companies. I feel proud to say that Dr YSR built over 32,000 houses in this constituency," he added.
YS Jagan read out the response from Paritala Sunitha, minister of SERP, Women Empowerment, Child Welfare, Disabled and Senior Citizens Welfare, to a letter written by YSRCP MLAs over the waiving of the DWCRA loans. "The minister said that no loans of the DWCRA women were waived by the government during 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18. But, Chandrababu, in his Dharma Porata Deeksha meetings, claimed that the government waived all the DWCRA loans," he said.
"Who was behind the failure to achieve the Special Category Status? Wasn't it Chandrababu who compromised on the State's interest when the TDP was romancing with the BJP?" the Leader of Opposition questioned.
