Praja Sankalpa Yatra Enters Prakasam District

Ongole: Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy began the Praja Sankalpa Yatra in Prakasam district, on Friday.

The yatra entered Prakasam district at Kothapeta in Lingasamudram mandal of Kandukuru constituency, where the YSRCP chief was received by Ongole MP YV Subba Reddy, former minister B Srinivasa Reddy, party cadre, students and YSRCP supporters. To mark the occasion, YS Jagan unfurled the party flag at Kothapeta. In Prakasam district, the yatra will cover 255 kilometers spread over nine constituencies.

The tobacco farmers of Prakasam district have complained to the government on several occasions that they are not getting minimum support price for their produce. Similarly, the drinking water in the region is contaminated with excess quantities of Flouride. Consequently, the region has high incidences of kidney ailments among the people. The Western region of Prakasam district is known for drought conditions. The people are, therefore, eagerly awaiting the completion of Veligonda project. However, the TDP government has not taken any measures for the speedy completion of the project. Farmers, students and the common man of Prakasam are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Jagan to air their grievances which include the Ramayapatnam port as the priority as that single project will wipe out unemployment problem plaguing the youth of the district.

On the first day of the yatra in Prakasam district, the yatra will cover Rallapadu Reservoir, Thatha hotel, Jampalavaripalem, Pentrala, Vakamallevaripalem, Lingasamudram, Balijapalem, Ramakrishnapuram, Thimmareddypalem, Vengalapuram, Kammapalem and Bangarakkapalem.
