Poor box office response for Chiranjeevi's speech - Sakshi Post

Is Congress on its way out of residuary Andhra Pardesh? When the star campaigner of a party fails to garner interest or response, then it is safe to say that the party is gearing up for tough times.

On Friday, Congress launched its 'Bus Yatra' in Seemandhra, in a bid to gain goodwill among people that the party lost post passing of Telangana Bill.

Party chief for the region Raghuveera Reddy, chairman of the election campaign committee and actor Chiranjeevi, former state party chief Botsa Satyanarayana and senior leader Anam Ramnarayana Reddy along with some other leaders kick started bus yatra from Srikakulam to enthuse party cadres ahead of the tough electoral battle.

However, the yatra, in spite of Chiranjeevi's presence, seems to have got extremely disappointing response from the public. The much loved star, failed to get enough crowds for his speech.  Many chairs at the venue remained vacant.

The buzz in political circles is that this poor gathering at the meeting, headed by Chiranjeevi who is the only ‘star campaigner’ of the party in Seemandhra, is being looked at as a bad omen.

Despite an average turnout, Chiranjeevi continued his speech saying that he believed that all Congress workers will stand by the party.

He requested the party cadres to be with the party to prove that they are with Congress in spite of many leaders quitting it.
