Ponnala's supporters and police spar at airport

Ponnala Lakshmaiah who came back to Hyderabad after he was appointed as the Pradesh Congress Committee chief for Telangana,  received a rousing welcome from Telanganites in Hyderabad airport.

But there were tense moments at the airport when a fight broke out between his supporters and the police. 
 
According to reports the police had instructed the supporters not to burst crackers and play drums. Angered at this, Congress activists raised slogans against the police and the latter resorted to lathicharge them.
