Poll debacle: Ponnala, Damodar at receiving end of blame game
The blame game over shocking drubbing of Congress party in the recently-concluded Lok Sabha election has began in the party.
War of words erupted between senior leaders of Congress party in the meeting that was held to analyse the reasons behind the defeat of the party. Leaders like Telangana PCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah and former Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha had to face the ire of several party leaders and activists.
The furious leaders also pointed out that there was a vast difference between Congress's showing in the country and in Telangana.
They demanded that all the senior leader claiming responsibility for party's loss offer resignations from all their posts.
PCC secretary Bollu Kisan questioned Lakshmaiah and former Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha over the defeat of the party and allotment of seats. He also protested against Congress party's leadership in the meeting. At one point, both Damodar Raja and Kisan had an altercation. He screamed at Damodar saying they should blame themselves for losing and also leveled serious of allegation at him over the seat allocation.
When Kisan showed no signs of stopping his tirade, Damodar said that the former was trying to look like a hero. Damodar Rajanarasimha lost from the Andole Assembly seat in Medak district.
