CM Promises Rewards To Best Performing Zilla Parishads
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday offered reward of Rs 10 crore and a brand new car to Zilla Parishads and their chairman’s respectively for developing villages and implementing government welfare schemes.
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi bagged all 32 ZP chief posts and reacting to them the CM said that his desire is see all the 32 ZPs top and walk with Rs 320 crore. The amount will be sanctioned from the CMs special development fund.
The CM also said that a training workshop would soon be conducted in Hyderabad for the newly-elected chairpersons and vice Chairpersons of Zilla Parishads.
Addressing newly-elected representatives at Pragathi Bhawan, KCR urged them to play an active role for gram swaraj amd panchayat raj movement. "Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao called upon the newly elected local body representatives to play an active role with the spirit of the Panchayat Raj movement and Gram Swaraj as the aim and development of the village regions as the goal," a release from his office said.
The Chief Minister recalled that the Panchayat Raj and cooperative movements have played a vital role in development of villages and said these should get back their past glory.
He asked the elected representatives to play a key role in implementing the new Panchayati Raj Act, with the sole aim of making every village clean and green, the release added.
The ruling TRS swept the recent rural local body polls in the state, bagging all 32 ZP Chairman posts.
