Data Theft: Citizens Security Compromised, Says Vijayasai Reddy
Hyderabad: The data theft of six crore people of Andhra Pradesh by the TDP government has serious consequences as private companies are given access to sensitive information such as bank account numbers and phone numbers, YSR Congress Party general secretary V Vijayasai Reddy said here on Tuesday.
Speaking to press persons here on Tuesday, he alleged that the safe and security of scores of women and young girls in the State were at stake as “TDP goons” could misuse the data. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and his son and IT Minister Nara Lokesh had misused the government and its exchequer to entrust the sensitive data with their benamis, who were capable of playing mischief, he lashed out.
TDP’s shady deals
The YSR Congress leader said the TDP government had followed a clear strategy from 2016 to use vital data of the people in the State to serve their political interests. The Aadhar Card database in the State was linked with e-Pragati App, which was aimed at connecting the citizen with the various government departments. This data was further fed into the TDP Seva Mitra mobile application.
“This began on September 7, 2016. Since then, on the pretext of tracking the delivery of welfare schemes, the TDP government until the announcement of polls stole the data from the citizens,” he added.
The data thus collected was used to conduct numerous surveys apparently to track the welfare delivery was, in fact, used to ascertain views of individuals as to how voted which party. “Accordingly the votes of those who were unhappy with the welfare schemes and expressed their opposition to TDP was deleted,” the YSR Congress leader pointed out.
He alleged that the whole exercise was carried out by Ashok Dakavaram of IT Grids, who he termed as the “benami” of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh.
“In carrying out such illegal exercise, the TDP has compromised the safety and security of women and the country. How can one be sure that the TDP goons would not share such vital information with terrorists or anti-social elements,” he asked.
Abhaya App becomes TDP’s milch cow
Accusing the TDP government of using innovative methods to rob the State exchequer, the YSR Congress Party leader said the government had paid a benami company of Chandrababu Naidu a whopping Rs 188 crore just to conduct pilot in Vijayawada and Vishakapatnam for the app.
“I wanted to know after spending so much of money, how many women have been benefitted from Abhaya mobile app,” he asked.
High-end CM dashboard, a myth
Despite the tall claims of Chandrababu Naidu that they have upgraded the Chief Minister’s dashboard by bringing in “version-2” by replacing the old technology, he said it was bogus and added that the same dashboard that was used during former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy too.
“Instead of making use of severs, technology and the data storage systems given by the Central government for CM dashboard, the TDP government wasted the public money by employing a private firm for the purpose. This was done only to benefit Chandrababu Naidu’s benamis,” he alleged.
TDP conspiring to hack voting machines
The YSR Congress general secretary alleged that TDP’s close aide Ashok Dakavaram, who was named in data theft, had recently convened a meeting in Delhi for conspiring to hack EVMs and disturb the process on counting day on May 23.
