Why Couldn’t Chandrababu Build Amaravati If He Developed Hyderabad On His Own
Caretaker IT and Panchayat Raj Minister K Taraka Rama Rao popularly known as KTR, ridiculed Chandrababu Naidu’s claims of having built Hyderabad by asking him why he could not build a Singapore-like Amaravati in Andhra Pradesh in a period of four years if he could develop Hyderabad in nine years. He said that Chandrababu and Lokesh had made similar claims at the time of GHMC elections and said that they were unaware of Quli Qutub Shah.
In an exclusive interview to Sakshi, KTR said that the ruling TRS would sweep the upcoming elections and bag a 100 seats in the 119 seat Assembly.
KTR also said that the TRS welcomes the coming together of two anti-Telangana parties such as the Congress and the TDP which were responsible for the poor state of electricity supply and water resources for 67 years. The Congress had not learnt any lesson and instead of working for the progress of the state, it created hurdles . He cited the example of 186 cases filed by Congress leaders against irrigation projects in Telangana using the names of dead and forging their fingerprints. He accused the Congress of lowering public discourse by resorting to personal criticism against his father and the caretaker chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao and other members of the Kavlakuntla family. KTR pointed out that even his young son was not spared and said that they could also comment on the TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy’s beard and so on but refrained from doing so.
KTR asserted that the TRS would work for the welfare of the state which is why it enjoyed the trust of the people. He commented that Congress leaders, including Revanth Reddy spoke without any restraint. He recalled how Uttam Kumar Reddy had criticized him saying that he had no political experience and washed dishes in the US. KTR said that there was nothing wrong in doing one’s own work and the TPCC’s comments reflected his feudal mindset. He accused the Congress leaders of filing cases against irrigation projects on the one hand and fighting for their completion and demanding water, on the other. KTR pointed out that the prestigious Kaleshwaram project undertaken by the Telangana government had been accorded permission by the Supreme Court and was being bitterly opposed by the Congress. The image of the TRS was being needlessly being tarnished and that’s why the party thought it fit to seek a fresh mandate from the people of Telangana.
KTR also said that it was true that these parties were subservient to their Delhi High Command. To Chabndrababu’s accusation that the Centre was coming in the way of harmonious relations between TDP and TRS, KTR said that Chandrababu and his party had worked against the interests of Telangana and its farmers all along and there was no question of working with him. To Chandrababu’s criticism of TRS after the dissolution of the Assembly had been announced, KTR said that it was odd that Chandrababu who earlier praised the TRS should do a u-turn on this because he wants to sail with the Congress.
