YSRCP Intensifies Demand for Steel Plant
Kadapa: With central government making it clear that it would not establish a steel plant in Kadapa district, the YSR Congress Party has intensified its fight for the steel plant with the slogan saying "Kadapa Ukku Andhrula Hakku" (Kadapa steel plant Andhra people's right). The YSRCP cadre says that it will not go back in its protest until the factory is established. As part of intensifying the fight, YSRCP workers held protests all over the district.

In Kadapa town, YSRCP held a protest meet at Dr Ambedkar statue and raised slogans against the central government's adamant ways. Speaking to the media later, YS Avinash Reddy clarified that until the government's gives a clear-cut assurance to establish a steel plant in Kadapa, their party protests will continue. Mydukuru MLA Raghurami Reddy, Kadapa Parliamentary constituency president Suresh Babu, Rajampet Parliamentary constituency head Amarnath Reddy and Sunil Kumar Reddy were among several leaders who participated in the protest.
The Left parties also staged a protest demanding the establishment of a steel plant in the district. The Left party leaders sported flowers behind their ears and protested near the Gandhi statue in Kadapa town. It is worth recalling here that the steel plant in Kadapa has been a long-standing demand of the people of Andhra Pradesh.
