What Happened to Ambedkar Memorial Park: YSRCP

Vijayawada: YSR Congress Party MLA A Suresh said that the ruling TDP government had promised to install 125 feet tall Dr Ambedkar statue as well as a memorial park, but there has been no word on these. "What happened to these promises? Why is the TDP not speaking about it," he asked. Talking to the media at YSRCP state office here today, he said the present government had grabbed the lands of Dalits instead of giving them.

The YSRCP MLA was surprised by the statement given by TDP leaders that they would meet President Ramnath Kovind and present a memorandum explaining about atrocities happening to the SCs and STs in Andhra Pradesh. YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan had already written a letter to the President explaining about the assault and attacks on SCs and STs. "Does TDP have any moral ground to talk about Dalit and Tribal communities?"

Suresh reminded the media that TDP leaders had criticised YS Jagan for showing due respect to the Dalit President by touching his feet. He questioned why no case was filed against CM, minister Adinarayana Reddy and RTC chairman Ramaiah when they publicly abused Dalits. "Will the government be able to tell the amount of money they spent for SCs and STs?" he challenged and added that it was unfortunate that the TDP government discriminated on the basis of caste.
