Woman Corporator Faces Harassment From MLA Secry in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: YSR Congress Party Vijayawada city president Vellampalli Srinivas remarked that the ruling Telugu Desam Party's atrocities and cheating, went unchecked. Talking to media at the party office here today, he said there was no safety for women in TDP rule and pointed out that a woman corporator was being harassed by TDP MLA Bonda Uma's personal assistant. This was a clear example of how insecure and unsafe women were in Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's regime.

The YSRCP leader said that he was surprised that the TDP was trying to cover up the issue of the woman corporator's harassment by the MLA's PA. It is understood that MP Nani had mediated to bring about a reconciliation in the case, he remarked. Women will teach a lesson to TDP leaders who are supporting the official who was involved in harassment, he said.

Srinivas called upon the government to take immediate action against the culprit. YSRCP will take the TDP leader's atrocities and harassment to the public so that the TDP would be sent packing in the next round of elections, he added.
