'Politics has Turned into Pure Business of Buy and Sell'

Hyderabad: Politics has become a form of business where MLAs and MLCs are bought and sold, Lok Satta party chief Jayaprakash Narayan said.

Speaking to Sakshipost.com, he said MLAs are leaving the party from which they were elected and jumping to other parties for their personal gains and welfare of the people is the last thing on their mind. While people make a distinction between various political parties and elect these leaders, the elected candidates do not see any such difference, he said in a direct reference to YSR Congress MLAs switching loyalties to Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Monday.
If a chief minister has the entire state administration in his control, then local MLAs and village level leaders will be forced to seek his help for every activity, the Loksatta leader explained. If the village leaders can say that they do not care who is the chief minister and that they can get all the village level work done by themselves, then incidents of people jumping parties will come to an end, Jayaprakash Narayan said.
