  • Cyclonic depression soaks Telugu states

The area of depression formed in the north western Bay of Bengal off North Andhra and South Odisha coast is deteriorating into a cyclone. Under the influence of this, widespread rains will occur in Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Nalgonda, Warangal and Khammam in Telangana and Srikakulam and in Vizag, twin Godavari districts, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore in Andhra Pradesh.

Along the coastal AP, 45-50 km gales are likely to blow. The sea is likely to be turbulent and the fisherfolk have been advised to be careful.

Heavy rains were reported in several parts during the last 24 hours. The rainfall in some major towns is as follows: Manthani (12 cm), Khanapur (15 cm), Dornakal, Gudur, Narsampet (10 cm), Chennaraopet, Eturunagaram, Atmakur (9 cm), Kothaguden, Chintakani, Mulug, Bhupalpally, Chandrugonda, Nallabelli (8 cm), Amalapuram (11 cm), Avanigadda, Ambajipet, Narsipatnam and Vijayawada ( 7 cm).
