Police seize Rs 2 lakh from TDP leader in Mahabubnagar

Police on Monday detained TDP leader, Venkateswarlu and seized Rs 2 lakhs in cash from him near Jalalpur of Manavapadu mandal in Mahabubnagar district.

According to reports, he was traveling in a car to Manavapadu when the vehicle was intercepted at the Jalalpur check post.

He failed to give a convincing reply about the cash. The police seized the unaccounted money and asked him to produce relevant documents.

Police suspected that the money was being transported to be used for local body polls.
