Police foil YS Jagan’s Deeksha - Sakshi Post
  • Pre-dawn swoop by men in Khaki
  • Jagan refuses
  • Cops force-shift him to GGH
  • Tension at the hospital, people lathicharged

In a pre-dawn swoop, the police tried to foil the indefinite fast of YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and forcibly shifted him to Guntur General Hospital on Tuesday morning.

At around 4 AM, the police came to the Nallapadu Deeksha spot, where YS Jagan has been on a fast for the past seven days to achieve special status for the state of Andhra Pradesh, and tried to convince him to move to the hospital. They moved in after late evening reports showed that his condition was worsening as ketone levels were alarmingly high and the pulse rate was dangerously low. Jagan had already lost over 2.5 kgs. He began suffering intense dehydration and found it very difficult to walk to give sample of his urine.

FORCIBLY SHIFTED: When YS Jagan refused to relent, they forcibly shifted him to the Government General Hospital. First, he was shifted into a 108 vehicle and then taken to the hospital in a stretcher. Later, they made him sit on a wheel chair and was taken to the special ward.

WEAK, BUT DETERMINED: A weak, but determined YS Jagan made it clear that he would continue his fast in the hospital and refused to accept fluids. The doctors conducted blood sugar leves, blood pressure, ketones and two other tests on him and are planning to administer fluids.

TENSION AT HOSPITAL: Meanwhile, a tense situation prevailed at the government hospital as a large number of party activists and Jagan’s supporterd gathered in front of the hospital. The police had to resort to lathicharge to disperse them.
