Police Flex Muscles To Crush ‘Would Be Nayeems’ in Telangana

Hyderabad: The encounter death of Naxalite-turned gangster Mohammad Nayeemuddin alias Nayeem alias Balanna is creating tremors across Telangana and even in neighboring Andhra Pradesh, sending a strong message about the State government’s firmness on law and order situation. While SIT is probing into cases against gangster Nayeem, the senior police officials are believed to have prepared a blueprint to identify key persons with ambitions of becoming next Nayeem in the underworld.

Telangna DGP Anurag Sharma and other senior IPS officers have been meticulously chosen by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhara Rao, who’s firm on corruption-free government mechanism and law and order control in the state. KCR has been making efforts to spread clean image of Telangana as it’s essential for attracting business investments and progress of the State.

KCR is also known for not tolerating any disturbances in any case of law and order as he feels that corruption and underworld activities will spoil the image of the state and make the life of people miserable.
It’s widely known fact in the political and media circles that though Nayini Narasimha Reddy is the Home Minister, KCR is personally involved in monitoring the law and order situation in the state. KCR gives high priority in maintaining Hyderabad as a secure and safe place for business and industrial activities.

The days of Nayeem were numbered as he turned more keen on realtors and businessmen in Hyderabad. Nayeem went to such an extent to threaten realtors close to topmost political family in Telangana. Police said Nayeem mainly targeted realtors and businessmen for extortion.

Hyderabad is the prime attraction of Telangana for attracting investors to the State. Even after four days of encounter, stories about Nayeem are still hot topics right from a common man to top political and corporate circles in Hyderabad.

Nayeem’s Wife, Kin Arrested

Telangana police arrested Nayeem’s wife Sajida and several people including two women very close to Nayeem and many of his followers to choke his network. The entire Nayeem family including his sister Saleema and in-laws were booked by the police for involvement in illegal activities. Police seized bulletproof jackets, grenades, butcher knives and other weapons. Nayeem’s wife Sajida, cook Farhana, maid Harsha have been remanded to women’s central jail.

“Nayeem’s cook Farhana has confessed that she was brought by Nayeem’s relatives to work as a cook in his house. Nayeem used to look after her family as she was a poor widow. She confessed that Nayeem was operating gangs for extortion, settlements and indulged in kidnaps and murders and also targeted realtors and the rich for extortion. Over a period of time, she became a part of the family and Nayeem started trusting her. Nayeem used to hand over all the documents and valuables to her for keeping them in safe. She along with Afsha used to look after the wife, kids and family members of Nayeem,” the police said.

High security at Chanchalguda

After several arrests of Nayeem’s close associates, the police have beefed up security in Chanchalguda central jail and women’s jail and surrounding areas. They’re also taking special care about prisoners and under-trials. The total number of prisoners in Chanchalguda jail is 1,270 including 260 under PD Act and 15 terrorists. The women’s jail has 295 prisoners.
