Police arrests Manda Krishna

Police arrested MRPS president Manda Krishna Madiga in the morning as his health began to deteriorate and rushed him to the Yasodha hospital in Malakpet.

Krishna Madiga had been on a hunger strike since Tuesday demanding political reservations for the physically handicapped.
He had also been demanding payment of pensions to the disabled up to Rs. 1,500 a month, while following the system accepted by Dr.Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, of fixing a pension of Rs. 500, Rs. 600 and Rs. 700, depending upon the degree of disability.
Protesting against his arrest, a group of disabled persons staged a protest along with  MRPS workers but they were also arrested by the police later.
