Police and Red sander smugglers face off in Chittoor - Sakshi Post

A week after two forest officials were killed and a dozen injured by red sanders smugglers in the forests of Seshachalam bordering Chittoor, there was yet another face off between law enforcers and the smugglers at Bakarapeta on Saturday. 

Over 500 police started combing operation to catch red sanders smugglers in the forests of Seshachalam today. In retaliation the red sanders smugglers attacked police with stones and the latter opened fire at them at Erravaripalem.
Police managed to catch one smuggler while others escaped.
