PM does not take interest in Parliament: Rahul - Sakshi Post

New Delhi: Ahead of winter session, Rahul Gandhi today accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of not taking interest in Parliament.

The Prime Minister does not take interest in Parliament and though the Opposition raises issues neither he nor his government bothers to respond, the Congress Vice President said addressing a function on the occasion of Pandit Jawharlal Nehru's birth anniversary.

He said, in contrast, when Nehru was Prime Minister, he used to listen to Atal Bihari Vajpayee, when even he alone used to raise issues. This was because Nehru believed that the opposition has some understanding of issues and some experience and he should take along everybody, Gandhi said in a veiled dig at the Prime Minister.

Accusing Modi, BJP and RSS of practicing unilateralism, Rahul said the Prime Minster's approach is always that the Opposition does not understand anything. They believe that they know everything and nobody else. Had it been so, there would have been achche din.

The monsoon session of Parliament was a virtual washout over the Congress' demand for the resignation of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje over the Lalit Modi controversy and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan over the Vyapam scam.
