Pilgrimage turns fatal, 8 dead as bus hits culvert

A pilgrimage to Shirdi turned fatal for pilgrims when a speeding private travels bus hit a culvert near Solapur in the wee hours of Tuesday, killing eight people.

The police said eight people were killed on the spot while 20 others injured in the accident.
The bus was on way from Shirdi to Vijayawada when the accident occurred near Solapur in Maharastra. The victims, who were from Chilakalapudi in Machilipatnam, were returning from Shirdi. The injured have been taken to the Solapur hospital.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has expressed his shock over the tragic accident.
