People are vexed with TDP: Jagan

Reiterating that people are vexed with the escapist policies of TDP Government, Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said that the failures of TDP should be highlighted and his lies should be nailed as farmers and other sections are badly affected with the governance of Chandrababu Naidu.

Addressing district review meeting in Kurnool on Saturday YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said: “ farmers who believed his loans waiver promise are bearing the brunt and are falling into the debt trap with fresh loans not coming in. Banks have earmarked Rs 56,000 crores for agriculture loans for khariff and rabi put together but it could only disburse Rs 12,000 crores as famers have become ineligible for loans, thanks to Chandrababu Naidu’s unfulfilled poll promise of loan waiver.
The matter of concern is that, for the remaining Rs 44,000 crores, farmers are looking towards private money lenders who charge exorbitant rates of interest. The situation has arose with Chandrababu Naidu failing to waive the loans. DWACRA women groups too are paying the penal interest and TDP policies are badly affecting all sections of people, he said.
Pensioners are badly hit as the budgetary allocation is just Rs 1,338 crores while the actual amount needed for the 43 lakh pensioners is Rs 3,700 crores. The State has appointed committees laden with TDP cadre setting aside elected representatives of local bodies to decide the eligibility factor. The committee is downsizing the number of eligible persons to match the meager budgetary allocation, he said. Chandrababu Naidu telling that he never promised government jobs during the elections is a blatant lie as promise is highlighted in all the hoardings, advertisements and other publicity material.
In the 2014 elections, TDP polled just 5 lakh votes more than what we secured State wide. This is far less than the majority YSRCP got in the Kadapa Parliament seat. The analysis has shown that people believed the false promise of loan waiver of Chandrababu Naidu and in urban areas Modi factor worked in favour TDP to muster the extra 5 lakh votes.
“People will not believe and tolerate lies and will reject the Party that fails to keep up its promise. I could not tell the same lie as I want to serve the people for at least six terms and emulate YSR ideology. People are with us and we have to chalk out a programme to highlight the failures of the TDP government,’ he said.
