Speaker asks MPs to 'behave decently' in winter session

New Delhi: Ahead of the winter session of parliament, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan wrote a letter to MPs, urging them to "behave decently".

"In ever aspect of life, we expect decent and sober behaviour from each other...," Mahajan said in the letter."As the speaker, can I expect from all of you that this highest symbol of democracy - Lok Sabha - which is also the temple of democracy, all of us will behave according to the accepted decency, so that the prestige and uprightness of parliament remains intact," the speaker said in the letter, which was written in Hindi.

"Can I expect cooperation from you in this endeavour?" she asked.The winter session of parliament starts on November 26.
