Pawan Kalyan’s request to TDP

Hyderabad:  Actor-turned-politician and Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan on Sunday requested the Andhra Pradesh government not to use the Land Acquisition Act for acquiring land from unwilling farmers for Amaravathi.

I request TDP government not to use 'Land Acquisition Act' on unwilling farmers of multi cropped land in capital region, Kalyan posted on Twitter. Earlier, during his visit to the capital region in Guntur in March this year, the actor had threatened to go on an indefinite hunger strike if the government tries to forcibly acquire land from farmers for setting up the new state capital Amravathi.

The government had earlier said it has got consent letters from farmers for taking over over 32,000 acres required for construction of new capital on 'land pooling' basis.
