Pawan Kalyan To Back YSRCP’s No Confidence Motion

Pawan Kalyan - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Power Star Pawan Kalyan threw his weight behind the YSRCP on its decision to move a no confidence motion against the Central government.

Addressing a press conference, here on Monday, he said if the YSRCP moves a no confidence motion in the Parliament then he will personally visit Delhi and pursue all the political parties to support it. "I will convince the political leaders that since the last budget of the Central government has been presented and the nation is heading for the polls, it is the right time to bring pressure on it for Special Category Status. The Telugu Desam Party's stance on the issue will be clear only after such a motion is moved in the Parliament," he said.

Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan avoided a direct reply when reporters asked for his response on YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's statement to pursue Chandrababu Naidu to move the no confidence motion. Instead of replying to the question, the actor hurriedly read out his prepared speech and walked out of the press meet. The dual policy adopted by the ruling Telugu Desam Party with regard to Special Category Status was once again on display by its ally Pawan Kalyan, on Monday.

During the bifurcation of the state, the TDP said that it would fight for the Special Category Status. However, post bifurcation, the TDP was satisfied with the Special Package that did not entail any major benefits for the state. Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu is also on record stating that the state did not require SCS whereas he highlighted it as assured by the Parliament when the AP Bifurcation Act was passed.
