Pawan Kalyan Is With TDP: Chandrababu

Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan - Sakshi Post

Amaravati: Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu has cautioned the TDP leaders against making statements on Jana Sena leader and actor Pawan Kalyan.

At a TDP Coordination Commitee meeting in Amaravati on Thursday, he said Pawan Kalyan is an ally of the TDP and called on the partymen to refrain from commenting on the actor. "Pawan Kalyan will stand by the party when the need arises," he is understood to have told the TDP leaders during the meeting held through video conference.

It may be recalled that Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had announced that all the YSRCP MPs would resign en masse in the fight for special status for Andhra Pradesh. Following the announcement, the TDP has been rendered directionless and is trying to stay relevant through selective media leaks. Reports of the coordination committee meeting and the discussions in that regard are said to have been selectively leaked by the TDP cadre.

The TDP chief also told the partymen not to make direct comments on the BJP government and the special status issue as the TDP government has already accepted the special package of the central government. "All TDP leaders should not raise the topic of special status and MPs resignation announcement of YSRCP till the issue dies down," Chandrababu said.

The MPs resignations announced by YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy are aimed at pressursing the central government to accord special status for Andhra Pradesh as declared in the AP Bifurcation Act. At the Praja Sankalpa Yatra in Kaligiri of Udayagiri constituency, on Tuesday, YSRCP chief YS Jagan said that the party will start dharnas at all the district collectorates followed by resignations by the YSRCP MPs. Following the announcement by YS Jagan, the party's district leaders have issued statements extending their support.
