Pasunuri Dayakar Sworn-in MP in Lok Sabha - Sakshi Post

New Delhi: Pasunuri Dayakar, who has been elected from Warangal (SC) constituency in the recent by-election, was sworn in as Member of Parliament in Lok Sabha during the opening of the winter session on Thursday. Speaker Sumitra Mahajan conducted the swearing-in of Dayakar who read out his oath in Telugu.

Dayakar won the by-election from Warangal (SC) Lok Sabha constituency which fell vacant due to the resignation of Kadiyam Srihari after being appointed as a deputy chief minister of Telangana. Contested on Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) ticket, Dayakar secured a record majory of 4,59,092 votes, polling 6,15,403 votes in his favour. This is a record majority in Telangana in a Lok Sabha election and the eighth highest in the country.

Coming from a humble family background from Bollikunta in Warangal, Dayakar is an artist, a Fine Arts graduate from JNTU and the creator of Telangana Thalli statue. Though he has been working in TRS since its inception in 2001, this was his first stint as an elected legislator. TRS president and chief minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao while endorsing Dayakar's nomination as the party candidate announced that the party would take care of all his election expenditure as he was an ordinary person. And Pasunuri Dayakar emerged an extraordinary leader in the election.
