Passport Or Aadhaar Mandatory To Travel In Domestic Flights
New Delhi: Passengers will soon have to furnish either Aadhaar number or passport to fly even within India, sources close to Aviation Ministry said. The move is expected to be implemented in next two-three months.
According to reports, the Aviation Ministry is planning to put four levels of offences in its proposed no-fly list, for which, a foolproof way of identifying passengers will be required. The reports say that the passengers will be asked to give passport or Aadhaar number at the time of ticket booking. The draft Civil Aviation Requirement (CAR) is planning to put the proposal to public discussion, giving people 30 days to give their suggestions on the same.
The report further claims that the airlines already have decided over unruly behavior of the passengers over the air staff. They also said that the serious action will be taken on such passengers.
The ministry has taken the sudden decision after the issue of Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad, who has been accused of assaulting air staffer.
