DRI officials dismantled the mixer and seized gold from motor - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Thursday arrested a woman passenger at the Rajiv Gandhi International airport for smuggling 1.29kg of gold.

Based on the intelligence report, DRI officers intercepted the woman, who came from Abu Dhabi carrying a white mixer along with three jars. On a thorough examination, the officers observed the mixer was tampered as some screws were missing. They dismantled it and found gold sealed with metal sheet inside the motor. "The gold in the molten form was poured into the mould of the motor core and sealed with metal sheet," a DRI officer said.

The officers arrested the woman and sent her for questioning.

The custom officials at the airport also seized 13 drone cameras from two passengers who arrived from Bangkok. The passengers landed from Thai airways with a big TV set and two bags in which the cameras are hidden. The officials on suspicion inspected the TV and the bags and seized the cameras.

Permission from Union Civil Aviation Authority is mandatory to utilize such kind of cameras.
