Parents end life over son's cricket betting
In a shocking incident, an elderly couple ended their lives after their son physically abused them for restraining him from resorting to cricket-betting. The incident happened in Murikipudi village of Guntur district.
Srihari (30) turned violent when his parents Haribabu (53) and Nagendra(45) chided him for resorting to cricket betting and frittering away money. He attacked the parents.Depressed over this, the couple went to their farm land and consumed pesticide. They were found dead in their farm land. According to neighbours, the parents were depressed over Srihari's wayward ways. He was not employed anywhere and had no income of his own.
