Palakonda MLA's son dies in bike crash in Srikakulam

In a tragic incident, the only son of a Congress Party MLA died in the wee hours of Thursday in a road accident in Srikakulam district.

According to reports, Nimmaka Srinivas Rao, son of Palakonda MLA Nimmaka Sugreevulu, was returning to his home after attending a marriage function when his sports bike hit an unidentified vehicle near the Palakonda police station. Srinivas sustained major injuries and died on the spot.
Srinivas, a B Tech student, along with his father and mother attended a wedding at M.Rajapuram of Viragatta mandal on Wednesday night. After the event, his mother advised Srinivas to accompany them home in their car, but the latter refused and opted to ride back on his sports bike, instead.  
He started on his journey at 2pm and the accident occurred near the police station at 3pm.
The police shifted the body to a government hospital where a postmortem was conducted.
