Over 11,000 Constables, 500 SIs Being Recruited In Telangana: DGP 

Hyderabad: Telangana Director General of Police Anurag Sharma on Wednesday said a massive recruitment drive has been taken up in the state police department under which over 11,000 constables and 500 sub-inspectors are being appointed.

After the formation of Telangana, more than 11,000 constables and 500 sub-inspectors are being appointed, which is almost 20 per cent of the existing force, Sharma said at an event here. The government has decided to issue laptops to each police constable during the training and 2017 would be the training year for Telangana Police, he added.

Meanwhile, Governor for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh ESL Narasimhan laid foundation stones for Model Police Station, Class Rooms Block and Indoor Sports Complex at RBVRR Telangana State Police Academy campus here.

As many as 15 crime scene simulation exercises will also be explained to the trainees.

A full-fledged Model Police Station at an estimated cost of Rs 3.05 crore will be constructed. This police station is meant for imparting training to trainees on functioning of police station and observing various police records. A mock court will also be constructed on the premises of this police station. A new class room block (pre-fabricated) with a hall of 500 capacity and two class rooms of 70 capacity at an estimated cost of Rs 2.40 crore is being constructed.

Indoor Yoga sessions will also be conducted in the hall. An Indoor Sports Complex at estimated value of Rs 15.20 crore with all facilities like separate gyms for men and women, four badminton courts, squash court, table tennis, indoor games like carrom and chess, billiards etc.

This sports complex will be in two parts, one for Trainee Sports Complex, while another for officers. It is a good sign that uniformity is being brought in the training at all levels from district to state capital, the Governor said.

He stressed that police need to maintain friendly relations with people and should be courteous while discharging their duties. He said the training institutes should train the constabulary to behave well with public and be ethical. We need to concentrate on emerging technologies to take on the terrorism and Naxal-movement, he said.
