Fratricide: Out-Of-Control CRPF Constable Kills 4 Colleagues In Bijapur of Chhattisgarh

A fratricidal attack by a CRPF constable left four security personnel, including two sub-inspectors dead and another one wounded. The incident occurred on Saturday evening in the camp of the Central Reserve Police Force’s 168th battalion under Basaguda police station area of the Maoist-affected Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh.

The police said, constable Sanath Kumar, who had a brawl with some of his colleagues, fired indiscriminately with his service weapon, an AK 47 killing SIs Vikey Sharma, Megh Singh, Assistant SI Rajveer Singh and constable Sankara Rao. Another ASI, identified as Gajanand, was injured in the attack. Sanath was later overpowered and arrested.

The bodies were airlifted to Raipur.
