Osmania University to Confer Honorary Doctorate on KCR

The Osmania University wants to honour its most famous student - Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao - with an honorary doctorate. According to highly placed sources, the university officials have taken a decision to this effect.

KCR would be presented with honoris causa during the 100th anniversary of the founding of the university. Though it is almost completing 100 years, the OU has honoured less than 20 persons with honorary doctorates. Among them are Babasaheb Ambedkar and Dr Manmohan Singh. The last recepient of honorary doctorate was Arun Netravali, who was conferred doctorate in 2001.

Interestingly, KCR is an alumni of the universrity and has done MA in literature from the Arts College.
