OU Ranks In List Of Top 300 Universities In ‘BRICS’

Hyderabad: Osmania University has been listed in top 300 universities list in BRICS (Brazil-Russia-India-China-South Africa) and Emerging Economies. The ranking was released by the Times Higher Education rankings.

One from Telangana, and three universities from Andhra Pradesh have found place in the list. Three universities from Andhra Pradesh are - Sri Venkateshwara University, Acharya Nagarjuna University and Andhra University.

Notably, only Andhra University figured in the list from both the Telugu states last year and was ranked 193 in the list of 200 universities. However, this year its rank fell down to 201-250 slot, along with Osmania University and Acharya Nagarjuna University.

Meanwhile, Indian Institute of Science-Bangalore has been ranked at 14th, rising two notches from 16th position last year.

The ranking has been done on five parameters - teaching, research, citations, International Outlook and Industry Income. 27 Indian universities have made to the list, while 52 universities from China.
