OU Non-Boarders Given 2 Days Time To Vacate Hostels

Hyderabad: As the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) came to end on Sunday, the Osmania University administration has now given two days time to non-boarders to vacate the hostels. The authorities issued notice to the students to this effect and warned them police assistance would be taken if they resist. The administrations permitted them to stay in hostel on their demand till the examination gets over. The University has already formed team and entrusted job to evict the non-boarders.

Most of the non-boarder have occupied D hostel and officials rue that many of them use electric cookers, and other appliances which puts financial burden on the University as the bill runs into lakh per month

Previously, the administration had cut off power and water supply to the hostels on the campus on July 14. However, after the students protested the university assured them that the power and water supply will not be interrupted till June 23. A senior official said, "New students can only be given admission once the non-boarders leave. Some are willing to leave but many have made this as they are home and are unwilling to move."

Reportedly, most of the non-boarder have occupied D hostel and officials rue that many of them use electric cookers, and other appliances which puts financial burden on the University as the bill runs into lakh per month. Not only hostels, but the same problem lies in teachers quarters as even most of them have been illegally occupied. The University is planning to cut off power and water supply to this as well.
