Osmania University Campus Tense As PG Student Commits Suicide

Hyderabad: Tense atmosphere prevailed at Osmania University campus on Sunday as a post graduate student committed suicide at Maneru hostel.

The student, E Murali, was pursuing MSc at the university. According to students at the hostel, Murali committed suicide in the hostel bathroom by using a nylon rope. They alleged that Murali was depressed that the government was not releasing job notifications. A suicide note allegedly written by Murali stated that he is resorting to the extreme step as he was unable to bear the tension and want to rest in peace.

Meanwhile, unable to digest the death of a fellow student some of the hostelers raised slogans against the university officials and the state government. Police initiated talks with the students to prevent the situation in the campus from spiraling out of control. The police shifted the body to Gandhi Hospital for postmortem, when reports last came-in.
