Osmania turns into battle ground a day before ‘Sadak bandh’

After a gap of several months, Osmania University witnessed tense situation as students’ bike rally turned into a battle ground. The students hurled stones at the police when they were prevented to take out the procession.

Tension prevailed in the Osmania University on Wednesday after police resorted to lathi-charge on pro-Telangana students. Tussle took place when the police intercepted them while taking out a bike rally.
Scores of students gathered at the main gate of OU campus and tried to take out the bike rally in support of the Sadak Bandh scheduled to be held on March 21.

After the rally bid was foiled, the students started arguing with the police and raised ‘Jai Telangana’ slogans. At one stage, police lost patience and resorted to lathi-charge to disperse the protestors. When the report came in, the situation is still in tense.
