'Only God can save AP!'

The way the co-operative elections were held was undemocratic and reflects abuse of power, says YSRCP honorary president, YS Vijayamma.

These elections which were conducted in an undemocratic way are not for welfare of the farmers, but only to show off Congress party's victory in the elections, Vijyamma said in a statement.

From the time of nomination to the Cooperative union till the time elections got over, irregularities by the ruling party were rampant. Else how would the Congress party, which has hardly done anything for the farmers, win? she asked.

Did the public vote you to power to face these difficulties—Doubling of fertilizer prices, no way of interest free loans, not getting support price for cultivated crops, dried-up crops with no electricity and increased diesel prices.

TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, instead of standing by the public, has resorted to dirty politics and joined hands with the state and Central government to get his cases dismissed.

She asked the Congress, "If you really won, why did you lose deposits in last by-poll elections?"

Congress party was celebrating after it won majority of societies in the elections. And they have also submitted reports of results to the Centre. But one cannot help but remember what happened during the election process and how it was held. When the opposition parties went to file their nomination, they were not even given the membership books that were meant to be given.

Much disgusting is the fact that cases were booked against the farmers who questioned how their votes had already been registered. It should be recalled that elections in 150 societies where they could have lost were postponed. But Congress is raving about the win as if it's a big deal!

The ruling party leaders threatened the farmers that they would not be provided with loans if they were not voted to power. If the Congress party lost votes in a particular society, then that society would not get funds. Thus elections were held under such conditions where there was an enormous amount of pressure on the farmers to cast their votes.

Fertilizer prices have doubled during the period between 2009-13 as compared to 2004-09. DAP, Complex, Uria... the prices of all types of fertilizers are doubled. The farmers are not a in condition to afford the fertilizers.

When Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy was alive, people had access to seven hours of power supply everyday. The present government is not providing power supply for even three hours. The farmers who lost their crops due to Laila storms have not received their compensation till now?

Farmers have not provided subsidy loans for at least one crop? The ruling government has even failed to offer minimum support price for the crops grown by farmers. The crop which is bought at a meagre price from the farmer, is sold at a premium price by the mediator.

Right from 108 ambulance facility and water supply to pension for senior citizens and fee reimbursement for poor students, none of the schemes operational under the present government is people-friendly!

Thousands of industries have shut down and lakhs of workers have lost their jobs with the endless power cuts in the state.

People in the state are fighting to live. As a result of the ruling party joining hands with the main opposition, the public has to face many problems in our state. Hey ram...Hey God..Hey allah..You have to protect the state.
