Only corporates have benefitted from BJP rule: CPI - Sakshi Post

Kottayam: CPI lashed out at the BJP-led NDA Government at the centre, saying that only big corporates have benefited from its nine-month rule and nothing had been done for the upliftment of poor and downtrodden.

People start realising that Modi government is cheating them with false hopes and announcements. In Delhi elections, BJP vote share has decreased by 10 per cent. This is our time to rejuvenate and reconnect to the people, CPI General Secretary S Sudhakar Reddy said. Accusing the government of seeking to 'dilute' the Land Acquisition Act, Reddy said that the move was aimed at protecting the corporate houses which he claimed funded the election rallies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during last Lok Sabha polls.

Inaugurating the delegate session of CPI Kerala state conference which began here on Friday, he referred to attacks on minority institutions and alleged that the BJP had now come out with its real intention of creating a communal divide in the country. Left parties and secular forces should strengthen their fight against outfits targeting the country's secular character, he said. Reddy also questioned Modi's 'silence' even after communal attack on minority institutions and on Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa and Jawaharlal Nehru.

He asked the leaders and workers of Communist party to work hard to strengthen the base of the Left Democratic Front in Kerala. People should be vigilant and fight against the 'communal onslaught' of the Sangh Parivar which he said was trying to impose their agenda on the people. Six hundred delegates are attending the five-day conference being organised in the run-up to the 22nd party Congress scheduled to held in Puducherry from March 25.
