Online Prostitution Racket Involving Bangladeshi Woman Busted

Hyderabad: An online prostitution racket operated by an inter-state gang from Hyderbad and West Bengal was busted on Saturday and a woman from Bangladesh and five others involved in the flesh trade were arrested.

According to the police, the woman, Akthar Shabana, a Bangladesh national, came to India and is illegally staying in the city. She used to organize girls from different cities of India along with the main organizer Kumara Ramalinga. The people would put the photos of the girls online with contact numbers on a website locanto.com. The main accused Ramalinga who belongs to Kurnool is staying at Kukatpally. He has contacts with sex business organizers in other states and procures girls. Ramalinga employed Ramesh and Munni, who transported the girls to the customer’s place and collected money from them.

Police conducted a sting operation and arrested the five people involved in the racket. They seized Rs5,960, a bike, a Bangladesh passport, fake Aadhaar and election cards and seven phones from them. The suspects are Kumara Ramalinga (50), the main organiser, Akthar Shabana (24), Kammara Madhu (23), Pothuluri Ramesh (27), and Bomma Munni (27). Ramalinga went absconding.

In another case, the police raided a brothel house in Uppal and nabbed Praveen, a resident of Dundigal. The main organizers Sanjay, a resident of Kolkata, Rahul, a resident of Tolichowki were absconding. The three accused would upload the photos of girls on a porn website and send the girls to different states in the country.
