OMG... Don't want to work in Nalgonda!! - Sakshi Post

How tough is the job of a municipal commissioner? AC rooms, host of attendants in tow and officials almost prostrating....Very royal, you would say. But, ask Nalgonda municipal commissioner Venugopal Reddy! He says it's the most stressful job.

The other day, Reddy went on leave surrendering his SIM to the collector. Reddy is finding the going very tough. His problem? The civic body is rules by one party and the state government has another party at the helm. The pressures therefore are mounting on him from all quarters. Civic body proposer, the ruling party at the state disposes. State government decides, the civic body refuses to oblige. The municipal commissioner propses, both the parties dispose. This precisely is the sorry story of Nalgonda civic body.
The latest issue to torment Reddy is the auction of 238 shops belonging to the civic body. The parties in power locally and at the state-level want to benefit their supporters. The commissioner wants to follow the rule book.
Unable to bear the stress, he went on leave for 15 days. The department of municipal administration has given full additional charge to executive engineer Rajaiah on Friday. Nalgonda town has very troubling experience with the rule by incharge. In the past, there was rule by incharge for three years.
