Old Couple Commits Suicide After Dispute With Children 

Mancherial: A land dispute with their own children has forced an old couple to commit suicide in Mancherial on Sunday night. The deceased Dharmaraju(80) and his wife Pochamma(70) committed suicide by consuming poison after their children quarreled with over a land issue.

Dharmaraju has three sons and three daughters, of whom a daughter Lakshmi and son Lingam were unmarried. Due to the financial problems, a dispute rose between the couple and the children over a land worth Rs 15 lakh.

According to police, the couple were under depression over the dispute with their children. The couple took the extreme step on Sunday night when Lakshmi went for a wedding and Lingam was out for work.

One of their sons, Ramesh staying in Mumbai, alleged that Lakshmi killed their parents for the land. Police registered a case under Section 174 of IPC and investigation is on. The bodies were sent for post-mortem.
