NTV banned for a week in Feb

Telugu news channel NTV has been directed by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry to keep off air for seven days from February 3 to 10 for allegedly airing obscene content in the midnight.

The management of NTV has approached High Court seeking the cancellation of orders to ban their channel. T. Ramadevi, the director of Rachana Television PVT Limited, requested the court to cancel the orders saying they had already given their clarification on the issue to the ministry.
According to the complaint, NTV had aired a daily show in 2012 for 4 months named ‘Cine Colors’  at 11:30 PM. The telecast showed uncensored hot clips from movies and aired obscene content. After receiving these repetitive complaints the Ministry of IB asked NTV to keep off air for 10 days from February 3 to 10.
