NTR statue in Parliament: Who gets the credit?
The row over the installation of TDP founder N.T. Rama Rao’s statue in Parliament has intensified with Daggubati Venakateswara Rao, Union Minister Purandareswari's husband joined the chorus against TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu on Monday.
Taking to media persons in Hyderabad, he recollected how Chandrababu was kept quit on the erection of NTR’s statue all through in his TDP rule.
Supporting his wife, Venakateswara Rao said "Chandrababu is trying to play politics in the statue issue. He is misleading the public by claiming that he was responsible for everything. But he did nothing in his nine year rule. People would teach him a lesson soon ," he said.
"People are laughing seeing Chandrababu’s Vastunna Meekosam padayatra," he said, while reminding Chandrababu once said that he was ready to contest against late NTR.
He openly questioned Chandrababu as to why he was not named Shamshabad airport after NTR, when he was in power. He alleged that the TDP chief could have proposed NTR name at the time of proposal with the GMR group.
He wondered how Chandrababu was blaming Purandareswari for not bringing pressure on the central government to name the airport after NTR, when Congress is ruling the state.
Till recently, it was Naidu versus Nandamuri, but with the statue row it has changed to Daggubati versus Naidu.
Analysts feel that Chandrababu Naidu wants to hog the limelight by claiming credit for pushing for the installation of NTR statue in Parliament. However, Purandareswari is not ready to let that happen.
Now, it's public has to wait to know who finally gets the credit for successfully getting ntr's statue erected in the parliament. But one can't be sure what kind of credit the person will get. For now, it's going to be wait and watch situation!
