NTR Name For Krishna District: YS Jagan

AP Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy - Sakshi Post

Krishna district: YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced that Krishna district would be renamed as NTR district after the founder of Telugu Desam Party and Former Chief Minister of undivided AP, who hailed from Nimmakooru village here. He made his announcement as soon as he stepped into Nimmakuru constituency in the district.

Later in the evening, YS Jagan took to his Twitter account to point out that NTR "had devoted his life to the service of Telugus, especially the downtrodden." His tweet further said that he pledged to rename Krishna district as Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) district "as a tribute to him, standing on his home ground, Nimmakuru," during his Padayatra. Take a look at the YSRCP Chief tweet:

Earlier in the day, NTR's close relatives highlighted the corrupt activities of Telugu Desam leaders in and around the former CM's village. They pointed out that in the guise of Neeru Chettu programme, lake bed had been dug up to a depth of 50 feet. While the area around the lake bed had been dug up incurring an expenditure of 8.5 lakhs, a tractor load of sand was being sold at Rs 350 while a truck load fetched Rs 600. This illegal activity was being indulged in by the TDP leaders, they said expressing their anguish.

Incidentally, IT Minister Nara Lokesh has adopted Nimmakuru.

The YSRCP chief learned that there was a 50-lakh rupee scam in the birthplace of NTR. This centered around sand mining and forged bills.

YS Jagan assured members of the Nandamuri family and the people of Nimmakuru at large that the YSRCP would ensure all-round development of the village. The villagers hailed his decision and said that it would be a fitting tribute to NTR.
