Noted linguist Chekuri Rama Rao passes away - Sakshi Post

Eminent Telugu writer and literary critic Chekuri Rama Rao passed away on Thursday due to cardiac arrest. He was 80 and left behind his wife, two sons and a daughter. Rao was more popular by his acronym Chera.

Born in Illindalapadu of Khammam in 1935, he was a Kendra Sahitya Academy awardee for his work ‘Smrithikinankam’. A doctorate in Linguistics from Cornell University in USA, he mentored three generations of young writers and researchers.

JAGAN CONDOLES: YSRCP president Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy condoled the death of Chekuri Rama Rao. In his condolence message, Y.S.Jagan said the death of the writer is a big loss to the Telugu literary field.
