NOTA gets more votes than 9 parties in Maharashtra - Sakshi Post

Mumbai: 'NOTA' option in EVM machine, which was introduced by Election Commission of India in 2009, has managed to secure more votes than nine political parties and made its presence felt in recently-concluded elections in Maharashtra.

As per reports, NOTA has got as many as 4,83,459 votes in Maharashtra polls which took place on October 16 earlier this month.It has secured more votes than nine political parties in the state.The parties which has  polled less than NOTA votes are Bahujan Vikas Aaghadi, the Rashtriya Samaj Paksha, the Samajwadi Party, the Republican Party of India (Athawale) (a BJP ally), the Bharipa Bahujan Mahasangh, and the Communist Party of India (Marxist).

Reportedly NOTA stood third 17,510 votes with in Gadchiroli district where maoist movements are very active.The other two parties are BJP which has won with  70,185 votes , NCP which has got 18,280 votes.

Meanwhile, Haryana NOTA has secured 0.4 percent votes i.e 53,613 votes
